Development and Communications Manager
The Coggan Family Aquatic Complex is seeking a dynamic and experienced Development and Communications Manager to join our team. This part time, hybrid role is responsible for leading fundraising efforts and overseeing all communications strategies to enhance the pool’s visibility and engagement within the community.
Lifeguard
Pay Scale: Hourly
Days/Hours: Weekday and Weekend shifts
Job Description: You are responsible for the safety of members and participants in and around the aquatic facility. Prevent potential accidents by adhering to policies set forth by the American Red Cross and the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 15 years old
Current Lifeguard Training certification
Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
Current First Aid Certification
Title 22 Certification (helpful)
Must pass a written and practical skills exam
Representative Duties:
Preventative Lifeguarding:
– Positioned to have full view of the area of responsibility above and below the surface.
– Continuously scan the area of responsibility
– Assess potential problem points before they become hazardKnow the pool rules and educate participants of them
Attend in service trainings as scheduled
Participate in random and scheduled lifeguard drills
Administer First Aid/CPR as necessary
– Perform appropriate rescues when necessaryPerform pool related cleaning duties
Customer Service
– Answer general information questions about facility
– Taking on Front Desk responsibilities when appropriate o Know the pool rules and educate participants of them
Water Safety Instructor
Pay Scale: Hourly
Days/Hours: Weekday and Weekend shifts
Job Description:
Instruct classes from toddler to advanced swimming levels in an enthusiastic and professional manner. Provide a safe environment for swim lesson participants in and around the aquatic facility. Prevent potential accidents by adhering to policies set forth by the American Red Cross and the Coggan Family Aquatic Complex.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 17 years old
Current Lifeguard Training certification
Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
Current First Aid Certification
Current Water Safety Instructor certification or equivalent
Title 22 Certification (helpful)
Must pass a written and practical skills exam Representative Duties
Follow provided stroke technique breakdown for smooth transitions between level and onto swim team
Communicate effectively with students in a patient and friendly manner, that provides encouragement.
Make use of proper teaching aids
Recognize improper techniques or skills and correct using positive feedback
Keep up to date records of your classes
Attend inservice trainings as scheduled
Attend weekly meeting updates regarding lessons
• Know pool rules and adhere to them at all times
• Answer general information regarding programs
Front Desk Personnel
Pay Scale: Hourly
Days/Hours: Weekday and Weekend shifts
Job Description:
Responsible for collecting money and greeting patrons as they enter the facility. Answering phone calls. Signing up participates for classes and membership.
Qualifications:
Must be 16 years old
Must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel
Must have good communication skills
First Aid/CPR a plus but not required
Representative Duties:
Greet and collect money from patrons as they enter the facility
Provide general information to patrons regarding schedule and programs
Answer phone calls, take messages for staff
Sign participants up for classes and memberships
Be able to look up patron’s name and membership status when needed
Perform other clerical duties as needed
May be asked to assist in First-Aid or other emergency situations
